Tennessee accident results in personal injury

Tennessee pedestrians can suffer personal injuries when they least expect them. Sometimes leaving home can even be dangerous and result in a personal injury. This can be true when a person steps out into local roads as they leave their home and come in contact with busy traffic.

An elderly woman was injured in Hermitage, Tennessee, recently as she exited her apartment on five-lane wide Lebanon Pike, police say. The woman may not have been in a marked crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident, reports suggest. The woman suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital for medical review.

No charges have been filed in this accident. Police continue to investigate the surrounding events as they determine who, if anyone, was at fault for the injuries to the local resident. There are no reports as to any distractions or impairments that may have resulted in the personal injuries.

After the investigation is complete, the victim in this tragic accident, like all victims of accidents, may find that she has legal rights to consider. Many times victims can recover payment for the economic cost of a collision through a personal injury claim if it is determined that another party or parties were negligent in a manner that caused or contributed to the accident. These claims can include requests for medical treatment payments, hospitalizations and lost wages resulting from injuries.

An accident victim would do well to review all of the available evidence from the accident. This review may assist them if they choose to navigate the sometimes confusing procedures involving a personal injury claim. Nevertheless, anyone considering such action would do well to document what occurred, including any medical treatment and expenses incurred as a result of the incident. Hopefully the woman in this case recovers quickly.
