Car accidents in Tennessee affect communities, schools

Recently, a local high school has been affected after a tragic car crash that killed one student and injured another. Tennessee Highway Patrol officials are investigating the tragic accident that also injured two other individuals. According to reports, the accident happened near Anderson at the on-ramp to Norris Freeway from Andersonville Highway. Officials state that the driver of a small car lost control of the vehicle when attempting to merge onto the freeway. After losing control, the car drove over a concrete median before striking an oncoming pickup truck.

The two occupants of the car were teenage boys, ages 17 and 18. The 17-year-old, who was a passenger, was killed. The 18-year-old driver was transported via helicopter to a hospital in Knoxville, where his condition is unknown. The two occupants of the pickup truck reportedly sustained minor injuries. The passenger required numerous stitches in his head, but other details about their injuries were not reported.
