Tennessee evening out ends tragically after car wreck

The Tennessee family of a young woman, who has been in a coma since the middle of December, is still hoping for a miracle. The 20-year-old girl went to a concert with some of her friends. On their way home that evening, they were involved in a car wreck.

According to the young woman’s mother, the driver of the car crashed into the barrier of a roadway after falling asleep. The young woman has been in a coma since the accident due to a brain injury. Although there has been some improvement as she started to respond to pain, the doctors are apparently not very hopeful of a recovery as the MRIs do not show an improvement.

At the time of the accident, the victim of the car wreck was five months pregnant. Fortunately, the baby was not injured and is doing well. The family believes that a miracle may still happen and that both mother and baby will be fine. However, instead of planning the baby shower, which was due to take place in February, the family has to meet doctors to work out what is best for the unborn baby.

Friends of the young victim of the car wreck are trying to raise funds to assist the family in coping with the rising medical bills. The Tennessee family has the right to pursue a personal injury claim against the driver of the car. Should the victim not survive, the family may choose to file a wrongful death claim. The hurt and worry of the family cannot be taken away, but damages awarded in a successful claim may assist the family in dealing with the financial burdens associated with this tragedy.
