Three injured in head-on crash in Knoxville

No matter how much experience someone has behind the wheel, they still may not be able to anticipate the foolish negligence of another driver and become involved in a car accident. In Knox County recently, a 21-year-old man was driving on Maryville Pike when he tried to pass another vehicle. As he drove into the oncoming traffic to pass, the man drove head on into another vehicle causing a car accident. The accident happened on a Tuesday just before noon.

The 21-year-old man drove into a Ford Explorer driven by a 60-year-old man that had a 65-year-old passenger in the vehicle with him. The pair from the Ford was taken in to UT Medical Center for treatment. Police reported all three people involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts, which possibly prevented a fatality.

The young man is now facing multiple charges in court. Those charges include passing another vehicle in a no-passing zone, driving without insurance coverage and driving under the influence. It is unclear whether the DUI charges stem from alcohol, drugs or both.

The two people that were in the Ford may want to consider retaining the services of a personal injury attorney in Knox County. The reasons for this include possibly getting compensation for their pain and suffering due to the other driver’s negligent behavior and to cover current and ongoing medical bills as a result of the crash. Getting an experienced attorney may be the solution for them to be reimbursed in some way for their injuries.
